Like many people who mentioned this film so far, it is truly eye opening. I had no idea the extent of this issue. The film focuses a lot of sex trafficking, which in my opinion is the most disturbing crime happening today. The fact that children as young as 7 and even sometimes 3 years old are sold into sex slavery is mind blowing. What alarms me is that there are so many people who are involved. It is more than just bad guys raping children, it is a system of people who profit from this practice. We know there are sick people in this world who harm children, that is no surprise. What shocked me was that there are people willing to sell another person to these horrible people solely to make a profit. Our world has come to value money over human life.
One thing that wasn't discussed in the film that I thought could be a valuable addition to ways we can help people is conflict free diamonds. The diamond industry is one of the most corrupt. By buying diamonds that are ensured to be conflict free, you are making sure that your luxury jewelry did not cost anyone their life.

I really feel that films like this should be seen by everyone. We are aware, but we are also in a class that makes us aware. Many ordinary people no nothing of this issue, because Americans tend to be self absorbed and sheltered. We take for granted the life we have. While girls are raped and mutilated, we live our lives looking for the cheapest bargain, not caring what our products cost others. Awareness is the first step towards action.
